Duelist Kingdom Format

  • Decks used must have exactly 40 cards in the Main Deck.
  • Each player's Life Points start at 2000 Life Points, and can go no higher than this.
  • A player's Deck may contain no more than 8 Level 5 or higher monsters, and no more than 3 Level 7 or higher monsters.
  • Both players’ draw six cards at the beginning of the Duel.
  • If the opponent has no monsters on their side of the field and did not Summon a monster during their last turn, one monster you control can declare a direct attack. Otherwise, neither player may declare a direct attack.
  • Players can Normal Summon monsters of any Level without Tributing.
  • Players can Normal Summon monsters in face-up Defense Position.
  • When a Fusion Monster is Tributed, that monster is counted as a number of monsters equal to the number of Fusion Material Monsters that were used.
  • Each player may only activate 1 Spell Card during their turn.
  • Each player may only set 1 Spell Card and 1 Trap Card per turn.
  • Face-down Spell Cards can be activated during your opponent's turn.
  • A Normal Spell Card can be activated during the Battle Phase if it is set face-down.
  • Ritual Spell Cards can Special Summon Ritual Monsters from the Deck.
  • Only one monster is allowed to declare an attack per turn.
  • When a monster is destroyed by a card effect, the controller of that monster receives damage equal to half of that monster's ATK.
  • A monster that is treated as an Equip Card is still treated as a monster on the field.
